Obama's Winter Fall from Grace Denial

Write-up by Gene Lalor

President Obama's embrace by a vast majority of American voters final November is fast deteriorating into an unforgiving bearhug as Americans come to realize Obama is not what he appeared to be.

As his numbers carry on their downward trajectory, the impact on the president would seem to be a slow realization that his presidency is rapidly collapsing around his very pronounced ears, an impact tantamount to a grieving lover's sense of reduction. In his situation, it's a loss of his presidency.

Any collapse is an incremental factor, happening in stages significant and small but when it begins it is hardly ever reversible.

A politician's collapse-in recognition, credibility, even in the constructive physical exercise of power-also can be gauged by increments and news stories. In Obama's situation, repeated stories are beginning to reflect the five stages of his grief denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

DENIAL

In spite of the ears problem, Barack Obama is no Alfred E. Neuman of Mad Comics fame Neuman's "What me? Fear?" mantra is far more a "What be concerned?" with Obama. In other words, denial.

Coccooning, retreating into a state of uncooperativeness, is just a variation on denial and no official news conferences in virtually seven months is symptomatic of that denial.

He's hiding.

In contrast to Bill Clinton's vapid declaration that he was not irrelevant, this stage of collapse is characterized by saying practically nothing when confronted with realities from which you would dearly enjoy to escape. And there are any number of real issues from which Obama is escaping.

Take the Fort Hood Massacre by Army shrink Key Nidal Malik Hasan.

Only technical legalities avoid Hasan getting labelled a terrorist murderer. He is also a confirmed Islamic radical who hated the America he served, hated the military intent on killing his fellow Muslims in a just war, and no doubt hated himself for getting an instrument of that killing.

But, far more than three months after that atrocity in Texas, Obama is nevertheless sitting on his hands and refusing to cooperate with a congressional investigation into how and why it occurred.

As Missouri Republican Senator Kit Bond, vice chairman of the Senate intelligence committee, stated, "They [the White House/the president] even now have not come by way of with all the details that we want," a a lot more judicious way of saying Obama is stonewalling.

The question is, Why? Why, for that matter, has the White House been less than forthcoming with the investigation into the underwear bomber on Christmas Day, allegedly by an additional Islamic terrorist?

Rep. Pete Hoekstra (D-MI) reinforces Bond's knowledge with the White Property in the matter of flight 253 involving Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab who only managed to finish his possibilities of procreating instead than blowing that plane out of the skies over Detroit.

Says Hoekstra "The smoking gun right here was Fort Hood. The White Residence critique on that assault was completed on November 30th. Regardless of our requests, the Administration has yet to short us on the findings of that report."

Al-qaeda operative Anwar al-Awlaki was linked to each Hasan and Abdulmutallab http://bit.ly/bPYN2N

President Obama's denial, his refusal to brief the congress and the American folks on Hasan's associations with Awlaki obviously contributed to the near- success of the underwear bomber 7 weeks later.

In his denial, our president seems content material with exposing Americans to long term attacks by Islamic militants instead than encounter the truth that his presidency is disintegrating away.

What cost denial?
